Well, our family blog hasn't been updated in AGES. Not since I {Lindsey} got engaged. So... I figured it was time for a little something new.

I have been updating my blog, so I don't feel like there's much to write, but it just seems like the right thing to do to update this lonely blog.

...and if you did see them you probably don't remember (I know I didn't). Well, I was looking through my pictures trying to find something and I found alot of funny pictures that are fun and I had forgotten about (ending a sentence with a preposition? I think not, thanks to parentheses). I think I will start posting older pics for use to enjoy. These are from last summer at the pool (duh).

Is everyone ready to go crusin'?
I've told each of you somethings but I don't think everyone knows all the details. So, I'll list some things and anyone who has any questions or suggestions can chime in.

Karlie, I listed you on my "sail and sign" account, so you should by able to go on line and print your fun pass.

Dad and I are planning on paying for the suggested (mandatory) tips that are collected all at the end of the cruise (it includes tip at the dinners, for the maid, etc. it's collected on the last day) The food is all included, soft drinks are the only thing that would be extra. warning, I bought Gwa a 12 oz. can of soda and it cost $2.41. There is, though, juice, milk and hot cocoa, all you can drink.

We need to be in Long Beach CA by about 2:00PM Monday, March 10 (yes, this Monday, in 6 days!)

Dad will drive the Honda which I hope will carry Me, Dad, Annie, Wes, and Bryce and Karlie if they want a free ride. I'm hoping Brad, Brandon or Lindsey will drive thier car and take Austin, we'll pay the gas. It will be more cost effective it we take only 2 cars. I think we should leave Mesa about 6:30am Monday morning. We need to take into account that there could be some car problems or delays and we can't be late or we miss the boat. If we're early, we can get on as early as12:00 and there is food being served then, I'm pretty sure.

Monday:
Board the ship

Tuesday
Day on Catalina Island, we port at 8:00AM (we can go to shore whenever we want but because we have to take a smaller boat to shore, the lines are long between 9:00am and 11:00am)
snorkleing
tour of the island
last small boat returns to the ship at 4:00
dinner at 6:00 - tonigh it the Captains dinner, fancy dress required

Wednesday
Day in Ensenada
take a tour to La Bufadora
Shop in down town
eat a taco or go back to the ship where there is food a plenty
dinner at 6:00
The ship stays in port until 10:00PM

Thurday
full day at sea, some choices of activities are:
eating
ping pong
swimming
eating
towell folding demo
sitting on deck, reading a book
eating
playing games in one of the several game rooms
napping
eating
work out in the gym
play mini golf
eating

bad news Lindsey the Yoga classes aren't free any more. I guess we could sponser our own out on deck ???

Friday
the ship ports about 6:30, theN waits for clearance. We can either put our luggage outside our door the night before by 11:00pm and get a number and wait to be called while we eat a leisurly breakfast. Or we can carry off our own luggage as soon as we port and the ship is cleared for us to disembard. Everyone has to be off by 9:30 am.

Anyone have any questions?
Bring games, there are some on the ship but maybe not ones you like.
I saved the daily schedules if anyone wants to see them to know exactly what happens when.

I'm looking forward to a fun time. Being with my kids and hubby is one of my favorite things to do.

Karlie and Brigham were over tonight and it had been awhile since I had taken pictures of Brigham so I decided to bust out the gear. We had alot of fun and I am really pleased with how it turned out. I usually just let Karlie post these on her blog, but I decided to do it here as well. Enjoy!

This is Brandon. I can hardly remember to actually get on here and read the family blog, so it is amazing that I am actually making a post.

I bound a new version of my book malfunctions today. It is a soft cover edition with 6 (yes 6) new unfortunate images. Since then I hopped on the internet and was doing some reading about binding and came across a line that I felt we could all enjoy.

"The spine of the book is rounded in a machine to allow the cover of the book to function properly when it is attached."

If you don't get the joke there, it is a sign that you are not up on all of the inside jokes that fly around like ostriches on a field of sizzling butter (I am not good with analogies).

Hiking and First solid foods! (weird combo?)

Hello family!

Karlie here.

I have been meaning to post for a while but it's hard to do while holding Brig:). We had a great day on Saturday. We finally tried to give Brig "solid" foods...the oatmeal isn't solid at all but it's more textured than milk, I guess! Brig did not like the taste or texture AT ALL as you can tell from the pictures:) We had a lot of fun watching him make faces though! Everyday I try to give him a little more so he gets used to it.

Later that afternoon, we took Wesley and Brig on a hike up camelback mountain. It was such a beautiful day. BRIG LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THAT HIKE!! He would laugh and squeal and everybody on the trail kept saying "What a happy baby", "Well I'd be that happy too if someone was carrying me up that mountain!" Wesley did great too! He beat Brig to the top and bottom. I think he had a good time even though it was hard work (at least we saved him from boredom...right, Wes?) I will talk to you all soon!

Exciting News!

I just recieved a letter from ASU admissions and... I was accepted! In fall of 2008 I will be the newest ASU student in the family.

More News, Jenny (called "mom" by some) went to rent two trumpets for Brad and me, but apparently decided that she should buy them instead. Now the Burnhams own not one, not even two, but three of the exact same instrument! How exciting! She expects us to learn a christmas trio, but it won't be that good; Brad and Wes can't keep up with me. Oh well--I guess I'll just have to pick up their slack.

Thanksgiving towers!

One of grandpa's brothers sent me the pictures he took of us building 'human towers' on thanksgiving. I thought you guys might enjoy them.

Here's the one where we all got off the ground (minus Brad... that would have been AMAZING!!!) For about 2.5 seconds. Take not of the looks on everyones faces, and of how hard Connie is pushing down on Brad's head.

And we all came a tumblin' down...

I was talking to Jake Brown the other day (for those of you who don't know who he is, he's one of the guys I go wakeboarding with) and he mentioned that they had just fired a guy and that I might be able to get a job doing deliveries and odd jobs. He works for the first counselor in my ward who is in the flooring business. I gave him a call and BAM! next thing you know I've got a job. I start full time next Thursday, the day after finals ends. I'll work part time once school starts again.

I want to get into engagment pictures (I mean I want to start taking them, not be in them). I'd like to do several a month. It'd be great if that were enough to support me. We'll see.

The Semsester's Emd

I Finished my Mondsy Class last night. I gave a presentation and got my portfolio back, and the teacher actually asked to borrow my portfolio to make a copy for an example for next semester! I was flattered. I got an A in that class. That's nice. Today I had my last Tuesday class. I got my portfolio back in there and got an A in that class as well. I already finished my interning, my 5 week class with an A, and now just need to finish all my work from my last class and will have an A in there as well!!! It's such a GLORIOUS feeling! I LOVE IT!!!! CHRISTMAS AND FREEDOM, here we come :o)

Brad, once again, you won in the Burnham Bugle... way to go!

I went to the 7 p'clock Canticle and took my camera along. I wanted to get one of Austin on the triangle. I did. Too bad I wasn't able to get one of him with even a hint of thinking about trying to show some slight inclination of emotion. Can you say Epictetus? (He was a stoic Philosopher). Anyway, it sounded good.

Thank you to Lindsey for setting this up for us. I've wished for it for quite a while. Thanks to everyone for their comments. I admire Austin for his honesty, I don't know if I would have admitted as much (and Brad says that you have a smokin deal @ $20 a month). Thanks to Brad for the photos, his comment made me chuckle out loud. And Bryce and Brig in camo is classic.
My hope for this site is, besides a little goodnatured banter, to keep everyone informed. My I not hear again, "I didn't know about that", or "You never told me". So may we post family events here and anything else helpful or amusing.

My First Post

Well this is Austin and this is my first time on here so I decided I'd post something. For mutual last night (Tuesday-we could not get a reservation for Wednesday) we went shotgun shooting at Red Mountain Trap and Skeet. It was my second time going and despite my hopes, I did worse than last time. I previously hit 18 of 25 clay pigeons; whereas this time I only hit 11.
Also, if you are still wondering how many texts I sent last month, it was about 950. Yes I know it's quite a few but oh well. Since I only get 250 free a month, I had to pay $71.90 for the extras, and because I had not payed my twenty dollars a month for the past ten months, the total came to $271.90. Quite pricey.

Oh I love this family blog!!! I can already tell it is going to be an amazing thing for us.
I too added my blog link on the side for easy access. (maybe someday I'll start writing on mine again...) I turned in a 6 page paper and big portfolio for my Bilingual Education class today and it is SO NICE to have that out of the way. I have another portfolio due tomorrow morning and that's what I need to be doing right now. I'm excited that the semester is drawing to a close and that Christmas is in the air! I just with this blasted cold would leave....

Bryce's birthday present came in today. It is the book by Nibley called "Enoch the Prophet". I will drop it off to him on the way home from work.
